About Our Estate & Letting Agents in Bookham

Great and Little Bookham (The Bookhams) born in the15th Century now a ‘grown up’ village with a thriving community spirit. The old adage that you can get everything from butcher, baker to candlestick maker is pretty true of Bookham, with a fabulous range of independent shops, many of which attract visitors from neighbouring towns and villages. The essence of the village can be seen on ‘Village Day’ each June when the whole community comes together to enjoy a fun summers day and again in December when the Bookham Christmas evening once again brings the whole village out and all the shops open their doors for mince pies, mulled wine and a good old sing along.

There are many other attractions which make Bookham such a popular village, to the North is Bookham Common, providing miles of unspoilt walking and riding countryside with a vast array of fauna and forna and wild life in abundance. To the South, Polesden Lacey house and gardens is one of the most important National Trust owned treasures, a fine Edwardian home open to the public and with extensive grounds totalling nearly 1400 acres including a wonderful walled rose garden, ancient woodland and trails and paths. The spectacular lawn areas host a number of open air productions throughout the summer.

Clubs and sporting activities catering for all ages, churches of most denominations and wonderful schools both state and private in the area are at the heart of what makes Bookham tick. Just down the road Effingham Golf Club with its imposing 19th Century club house is a qualifying course for the Open Championship, whilst The Howard of Effingham senior school is one of the most respected state schools in the county.
